Even with the Giants re-signing Molina, Posey is a good bet to get some time in the bigs should something happen to Molina. But many experts don't think Montero will stick at C, and I expect him to stay in the minors all year to see if he can learn enough at C to stick there. He was hit bad by injuries when he was younger, but he's been a highly touted prospect for a long time (was the #1 guy in the Pirates organization for awhile). If he gets an opportunity in the majors as a backup, I'd expect a line similar to Mike Redmond's last year but with a little more power. Jesus Montero is an interesting case. He's the Yankees #1 prospect, but I wouldn't be surprised if he never starts for them. There's a future hall-of-fame catcher that becomes a free agent at the end of this year: Joe Mauer. If the Twins can't lock him up, it'd be hard to turn down an 8-year, $250 million contract (or something in that ballpark) that the Yanks could and would offer him. Then Montero would be trade bait.
