Mays,

Wow, thanks for that update. BUT (always a but :-p), now it lists, say, Victor Martinez as two identical, multi-position eligible players. Even if you go to just "Catchers," there are two V-Marts of equal value.

I tried to manually edit one of the V-Marts to make him worthless, but strangely, when I did that, it affected Joe Mauer's stats! It ALSO affected Mauer's stats when, a second time, I made a small adjustment to one of the two Pablo Sandoval's stats. I reduced one of the Sandoval's HR totals by just a couple, and the edit was reflected in Mauer's stats!

For what it's worth, Mauer was the first name listed in the file I uploaded, and also the most valuable...

@LittlePanda: You didn't miss it, but that's because I just now added it. :-)

In the "defaultPos" column, enter positions in any order, separated by either a " " or a "/". So:

1B/C
OF 2B 3B

Hey,

I may have missed it, but has anyone found or figured out the proper format for giving players multi-position eligibility?

Just a couple of updates on the upload feature:

- I've fixed a bug for uploads from Macs. If you are on a Mac and have had problems, please try it again and see if things are better.

- I've updated the upload page with (hopefully) better instructions. Also, a sample of the file you uploaded will be displayed immediately. That way, you can tell right away (before entering your league settings) whether the format was correct.

It's looking like including the MLBAM IDs is more trouble than it is worth... I've removed them from the templates to avoid confusion.

If you already have projections in a spreadsheet, I think this is the easiest way to do things:

- Rename the column headings in your spreadsheet to match the template. For a standard league you must include:

playerName
defaultPos
AB
H
R
RBI
HR
SB

playerName
defaultPos
IP
BB
H
ER
K
W
S

The order doesn't matter. Adding "team" will make it look nicer but is not required. AL/NL only leagues need to include "league", even if you're only projecting players in your league. If you use keepers, the "keeperPrice" column will automatically calculate inflation but is also not required.

- Save the hitters and pitchers in two separate .csv files ("Save As" option in Excel).

-Upload the files.

Anybody have any suggestions for ways to make adding the MLBAM IDS to a set of projections any easier? Or is that the super time-intensive portion of the process?

V,

Mays has openly discussed the inner-workings of the Price Guide in a few articles on here. Everything I've put together was from scratch.

I'd love to help you test this out as well.

#9 (Chris) -- how do you use this system in Excel? Do you write out the formulas yourself, or has Mays already put this out and I missed it? I'd really like to be able to play with this all in Excel.

Thanks, Mays, for putting all this work out for everyone
